PDO (polydioxanone) threads are absorbable medical sutures made from a synthetic polymer that has been safely used in surgery for over 30 years. Lifting PDO Threads:

​Lifting PDO threads are a non-surgical treatment designed to provide immediate support and lifting to areas of skin laxity while stimulating long-term collagen production. Modern lifting thread techniques offer a more refined and effective approach to facial and body rejuvenation, helping improve contour and firmness without surgery. Treatment areas may include the face, neck, abdomen, décolletage, arms, waist, hips, buttocks, inner thighs, knees, and other areas with mild to moderate skin laxity.

Typically, 3–6 lifting threads are placed on each side of the face or neck depending on the treatment goals. The procedure generally takes approximately 1–1.5 hours and includes topical and injectable lidocaine for comfort. Pronox nitrous oxide is also available to help enhance the treatment experience. Mild bruising, swelling, and soreness are expected, and most patients should plan for approximately one week of downtime during the initial healing process.

Smooth threads are often considered a cost-effective alternative or complement to dermal fillers since they help to keep filler in place--especially in patients over 60., Each thread priced at $20 compared to approximately $400 for a syringe of filler. Many patients tolerate the procedure comfortably with little to no numbing, and treatments can typically be added to a visit in as little as 20 additional minutes.

Double Chin Treatment:

Smooth PDO threads can be especially effective for treating fullness beneath the chin. This treatment typically uses approximately 80 smooth threads in varying sizes placed in a cobweb pattern beneath the chin area. The threads help stimulate collagen, provide structural support, and improve the appearance of skin laxity and fullness, with visible improvement often seen within 2 weeks.
